President Uhuru Kenyatta has revealed he will not tolerate Government officials who do not deliver on their mandate.

The President said those who fail in their duties are a hindrance to the achievement of the Government’s development goals.

He said such officials should be ready to quit because Kenya can no longer accommodate non-performing public officers at all levels of Government.

“We have solid programmes that can change the lives of Kenyans and all Government officers who cannot deliver on their mandate should quit, more about http://cfsk.org/wp-content/plugins/events-manager/classes/em-location-post-admin.php ” said the President.

The President emphasized that the warning goes to all people who are paid using taxpayers money.

“All Government officers and politicians who receive money from taxpayers should know this is the year to deliver and if you cannot deliver please quit because there are many other competent people who can perform that job, click ” the President said.

He said the Government wants to make this year to be one of delivery on many plans aimed at transforming the country and he will not allow anyone to sabotage that target.

“This is not the year to experiment and we do not expect excuses. We expect the people of Kenya to feel the impact of the transformational projects implemented by their Government using the taxes collected from them,” said the President.

The President said the Government was clear on the transformative agenda for the country and will not allow civil servants who engage in corrupt practices to derail its efforts.

“We will show no mercy to any individual no matter their rank,” said the President when he spoke in Korogocho where he launched a major project to upgrade the informal settlement. The President had earlier launched a similar project in Mukuru kwa Njenga and later launched another project in Mathare.

The President who was accompanied by seven Cabinet Secretaries and the Governor of Nairobi Evans Kidero called on Government officials to change their focus in delivering service to Kenyans.

He said for many decades the Government only prioritised projects that benefited the wealthy but it was now time to think of the poor.

Citing the example of Nairobi, the President said Government services are concentrated in the affluent areas while the slums of the city where majority of residents live lack even services that are available in villages in remote parts of the country.

“For a long time, the areas with the biggest population have been left without development. This has to change because every Kenyan, wherever he lives deserves service,” said the President.

He urged the Cabinet Secretaries who were with him and whose ministries have roles in the youth empowerment projects meant to upgrade slums to stay in touch with the majority of Kenyans.

“I know some of you have never visited Korogocho before today, you should stay in touch with the people living in these areas because this is where majority of Nairobi residents live,” he said.

The President also appealed to politicians to concentrate on development instead of engaging in petty arguments all the time.

“Kenyans are not interested in empty politics that divide them but development that inspires them. They will not eat politics or empty rhetoric,” the President said.

He asked Kenyans to maintain peace and disregard incitements from leaders whose interest is only to create divisions.
