Minister in charge of Economic Monitoring Henry Banyenzaki is being investigated by police for momentarily kidnapping Pastoli Twinomuhangi the Kabale District Speaker.
The speaker was over the weekend intercepted and held by the minister while he traveled with another aspirant for Muko Sub County LC3 chairpersonship identified as Balaba and one Vincent Akansasira.
The three who were riding in motor vehicle number UAP 714J, sickness http://damnyouautocorrect.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-recaptcha/uninstall.php were blocked at Ndekura Kyenyi in Muko Sub County Kabale district while returning from a rally in Kyenyi.
Twinomuhangi told Chimpreports they were blocked by vehicle number UG 2253C from which Minister Banyenzaki later emerged and ordered him to roll the window.
Patrick Besigye Keihwa, the Kabale district LC5 boss says he was contacted by the speaker telling him that he had been blocked by some people led by the Minister.
Twinomuhangi also called the acting police commander Augustine Nakitari and the district internal security officer Robert Nabimanya.
The Kigezi Region Police Commander Assistant commissioner of Police Ben Mubangizi confirmed receiving the complaint, and said he had deployed officers to handle the issue.
When our reporter contacted Banyenzaki on phone he informed us that they blocked the speaker because they had reliable information that they had in the car fake NRM registers and some ballot papers but they had no ill intentions of harming them.
Bad blood has grown between the two who have for long been friends until when Twinomuhangi decided to support Banyenzaki’s political nemesis Eng Denis Sabiti Bamwoya the former commissioner of transport in the ministry of works and transport who is giving Banyenzaki the run for his money in the impending NRM primaries for the Rubanda County west MP seat that he has been occupying since 2001.
This is the second time that the minister if being accused of kidnap. In August this year he reportedly intercepted and blocked Moses Nuwagaba the former Kabale district deputy RDC at Omukidebe trading centre in Rubaare Ntungamo district.

This, he said during a meeting with taxi drivers’ representatives from Kampala Operational Taxi Stages Association and Uganda Transport and Development Associations at Entebbe State House on Sunday.
The representatives complained that the leadership of the stage committee is manipulated by KCCA and does not give the taxi drivers the chance to lead themselves.
In order to avoid double taxation, the President said there was need for them to pay to only KCCA and workers on the stages should be paid by KCCA.
The President also promised taxi operators loans to buy buses.
He acknowledged the advantage of having more buses around the city to reduce pollution.
” We shall however, give first priority to taxi operators to buy buses, by giving them loans that they can pay over 5 years, so that they use buses rather than Kamunye,” said the president.
