KCCA Motor Rally Festival Gets Shs43m Sponsorship

This Saturday October 7, as part of the KCCA Carnival activities, a Motor Rally will be held in Naguru as top Drivers vy for top prizes.

Hima Cement has again supported the gala with a Shs43 million Sponsorship package to boost the upcoming Rally.

It should be noted that Hima cement also sponsors Driver Ambrose Byona ‘Omunyeto’ and recently sponsored the Pearl of Africa Rally.

KCCA Executive Director Jennifer Musisi, speaking at an event held at Panamera Restaurant on Tuesday morning said: “A lot of people are coming to this Festival and we want them to enjoy. Personally, I had never been to a Motor Rally until the Federation of Motor Sport came on board.”

Musisi revealed that the proceeds will go to the UPE Schools in Kampala region so as to improve the quality of Education for children for a better society.

Musisi went on to thank all the stakeholders: “I want to thank Hima Cement for their Commitment to Sports in Uganda and also the Motor Sport for making this profession. We are looking forward for a good performance.”

About 40 cars are expected to take part in this event that will be rallied on a 2.5KM Rally Sprint at Naguru Satelite City.

Hima Sponsored driver Ambrose Byona will compete against other drivers like Omar Mayanja, Duncan Kikankane, Arthur Blick Junior, Fred Wampamba and many others.

Veteran drivers like Moses Lumala and Emmanuel Kato will also take part.

This year’s rally at the carnival will have three classifications; the NRC category, CRC Category and Sprint Championship 2017 and will have a much faster track than last year.
