KCCA in action against Mamelodi Sundowns

KCCA FC yielded a favorable result with an away goal despite losing 2-1 to defending champions Memelodi Sundowns in a Caf Champions league first round on Friday.

The game was played at a nearly empty Locus Moripe stadium in South Africa.

The Ugandan champions were caught off guard with two quick goals inside seven minutes, here and all looked like the beginning of an infamous massacre.

Soumahoro headed a cross past Ochan in the second minute and Nascimento added a second just after four minutes from the spot following Ochaya’s foul on Morena.

The Brazilians continued to dominate the proceedings and condemned KCCA FC to their own half for the better part. In the 17th, information pills Leo Castro connected in after some good sleek passes around but the ref cancelled for an infringement by Tau.

Ochan was forced to save Tebogo and two attempts by Leo Castro before the referee called it time for refreshment.

Second half presented it’s own game. Majwega had a chance from a freekick in the 63rd but Sandilands contained it. Coach Mutebi substituted Kirabira for Nsibambi two minutes later to add more firepower upfront.

The change was spot on! Just three minutes into the game, pharmacy Nsibambi rushed to the right corner and slotted a cross which found Sserunkuma ready for duty. The striker planted it in the bottom right corner for the consolation.

Mutebi later pulled out the goal scorer for youngster Allan Okello.

The return leg will be played next week at Lugogo
