Geoffrey Sserunkuma’s goal after 63 minutes settled the match played after a heavy downpour in Kampala.

The veteran forward received a cross from left back Joseph Ochaya to plant a perfect header into the left corner of Ismael Watenga’s goal.

KCCA started the game with pomp and almost took the lead just after two minutes when Sserunkuma found space behind the Vipers defense but his effort was well collected by goalkeeper Ismail Watenga. Two minutes later, illness Majwega got a similar chance but blasted it wide.

The reigning league champions continued to pile pressure on Viper’s defense and the venoms had the woodwork to thank when Muzamir Mutyaba’s strike ricocheted of the cross bar midway through the first half.

The deciding moment came eighteen minutes after a recess when Sserunkuma headed home to earn KCCA the Fufa super cup, their third history.

Vipers almost levelled matters in the 70th minute through new recruit Ibrahim Kayiwa who came on a second half substitute for William Wadri but his effort hit the crossbar.

KCCA’s diminutive holding midfielder Ivan Ntege was voted man of the match.

Geoffrey Sseeunkuma’s goal was enough for KCCA to lift the 2016 Fufa super cup
