Kayihura: Terrorists Targeting School Along Jinja Road

Team Uganda in the afternoon aboard Qatar Airways flight embarked on an 18-hour journey where they are expected to arrive in Guiyang on Thursday at 3.00pm.

They however left without record six-time national champion Moses Kipsiro saying that he fears for his life after receiving disturbing messages from people connected to sexpest coach Peter Wemali.

Last year Kipsiro made allegations that Wemali had sexually harassed junior female athletes during a training camp in Bukwo in preparation for the March 16 Africa Cross-country Championships last year.

“He (Wemali) vowed to hurt or kill one by one of those who exposed his deeds last year,” stated a member of the athletics fraternity, whose name withheld for fear of reprisal to a local daily last month.

“He has been trying so much to get to Kipsiro but in vain. So the cross-country country event gave him that opportunity,” Kipsiro’s coach Raphael Kasaija said.

Junior men: Joshua Cheptegei, Fred Musobo, Monday Bushendich, Abel Chebet and Robert Chemonges

Senior women: Juliet Chekwel, Adero Nyakisi, Nancy Cheptegei, Patricia Chekwemboi and Emily Chebet

Senior Men: Moses Kipsiro (pulled out), Timothy Toroitich, Philip Kipyeko, Geoffrey Kusuro and Moses Kibet.

4:30pm: Police boss Gen Kale Kayihura has said terrorists are planning to strike Uganda, information pills http://culinaryhealthfund.org/wp-content/plugins/popover/inc/rules/class-popup-rule-role.php targeting a learning institution.

He did not identify the targeted school.

The remarks come against the backdrop of the Al Shabaab raid on Garissa University College in North Eastern Kenya where 147 students were shot  or slaughtered in cold blood.

The Police chief’s address comes in the wake  of  the increased spate of murders in the country and the most recent one being the shooting of prosecutor Joan Kagezi who was in charge of  the July 2010 Lugogo bombings case that left more than 70 people dead and scores injured.

Addressing businessmen at Kampala Protea Hotel, Kayihura warned that a risk looms if the assailants who murdered the prosecutor are not apprehended.

“It’s a challenge to us and we must fight hard to see that these killers are found and prosecuted or else we are at a risk if we don’t get them,” Kayihura said.

The police boss however refuted reports   linking the killers of Kagezi to   Somalia based Al Shabaab militants asserting that the chaos is fueled by organized criminal groups in a bid to distort peace in the country.

Among other issues the IGP is expected to address include security measures and tips to be followed   during the Easter season .

On Thursday, more than 140 people were killed and others injured after Al Shabaab militants attacked Garissa University College in Northern Kenya on Thursday morning.
