Kayihura Suspends Omalla Over Misconduct

The Police Field Force Unit Zonal Commander for Busoga East and Malaba region Sam Omalla was on Monday suspended over offenses committed during the recently concluded general elections.

According to a letter dated June 6th, website 2016 which ChimpReports has seen, Omalla who was the Kampala Field force commander was suspended together with four other officers pending investigations into the alleged misconduct in the districts of Namutuba and Tororo.

The inspector General of Police Kale Kayihura in the letter said that the suspension was to make sure that the ongoing investigations into the issue are not interfered with.

The other officers that were suspended include: Busoga East Regional Police commander Chemonges Seiko, Namutuba District Police Commander Bashir Sempala, Officer in Charge Kibaale sub-county Henry Mugoda and Police constable Kevin Akit.
