The Inspector General of Police Gen. Kayihura has suspended police officers at the Malaba, more about http://context-beermann.de/templates/context_beermann/warp/helpers/useragent.php Busia and Kisoro border points, cheap http://childrensclasses.org/wp2012/wp-includes/class-wp-list-util.php and sent them for refresher courses.
The affected officers are from the rank of Constable to Assistant Superintendent of police; from DPCs to OC stations.
According to the Bukedea regional police spokesperson Sowali Kamulya, order Gen. Kayihura acted on complaints from the public about misconduct of the said officers.
“He received complaints that the officers were conniving with criminals in the area,” Kamulya told this website.
“They were also reported for failure to respond to emergencies in time.”
This website has separately learnt that that the Bukedea RDC complained that these police officers received bribes from smugglers to allow them enter with their goods.
Kamulya however said that this was a ‘normal rehabilitation’ exercise for the officers.
“The officers will undergo a refresher course at Kabalye Police training school for what we call rehabilitation,” he said.
He added that another group of police officers has been sent to replace the ones dismissed.
Kigezi region police spokesperson Elly Maate also confirmed the development adding that it stems from the complaints by the Kisoro LC5 chairman.
He added that over 160 officers and commanders had so far been sent to replace the ones dismissed.
Meanwhile a total of 451 officers are affected in Busia and Malaba districts
