Kaweesi Murder: Police Issue Composite Images of Suspects

Police have released two composite pictures of the suspected killers of police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi.

Police said the images were of male suspects “wanted in connection to the case of murder that happened at Kulambiro in Kisaasi, pharmacy Kampala.”

A facial composite is a graphical representation of an eyewitness’s memory of a face, order as recorded by a composite artist.

It’s highly possible the facial impressions were as a result of interviews with witnesses.
ChimpReports understands police listened to several people who volunteered information in regard to Friday morning’s shooting.

Kaweesi was shot at around 9:30am after leaving residence in Kulambiro, information pills a Kampala suburb.
Police are yet to speak out on whether they have anyone in custody in relation to today’s assassination.

But a huge hunt is underway to apprehend the suspected killers.

Facial composites are used mainly by police in their investigation of (usually serious) crimes. These images are also used to reconstruct the victim’s face in hope of identifying them.

While the classic use of the facial composite is the citizen recognizing the face as an acquaintance, there are other ways where a facial composite can prove useful.
The facial composite can contribute in law enforcement in Identifying the suspect in a wanted poster; obtaining additional evidence against a suspect; assisting investigation in checking leads and warning vulnerable population against serial offenders.
Facial composites of various types have been used extensively in those television programs which aim to reconstruct major unsolved crimes with a view to gaining information from the members of the public, such as “America’s Most Wanted” in the US and “Crimewatch” in the UK.
