Kato Lubwama now Boss at Parliament, Publicity Media Forum

The humorous Rubaga South Member of Parliament, order Kato Lubwama has earned himself an elective position at the national assembly just three months after stepping in to the place.

The play writer and actor turned politician was on Thursday named on the interim committee to steer the Uganda Parliamentary Forum on Media.

He expressed readiness to fight for a free, sale fair and independent media and also the general freedom of speech in the country.

Uganda Parliamentary Forum on Media is an organization of Members of Parliament committed to serving the people of Uganda by promoting freedom of speech and expression, media friendly legislation and responsibility. The mission of the non-partisan organization is to achieve a free, professional, self-regulated media working in decent conditions to play its rightful role in a peaceful and democratic society.

Kato Lubwama told ChimpReports that he will as well use the forum to advance the art industry in the country.

This website understands that Kato Lubwama wants the constitution of the Forum to be broadened to accommodate arts and be renamed “Uganda Parliamentary Forum on Media and Arts.”

The comedian and drama actor added that, “I will make sure that I bounce back as a leader in the main executive committee after serving in the interim for these two months. I will work towards extending this forum to arts too.”

Other members of the interim committee are the Dokolo County law maker, Paul Amoru Amiat as the committe chair, deputized by Rakai district woman Member of Parliament, Juliet  Suubi Kinyamatama, Francis Mwijukye of Buhweju County as the Secretary General and Amule Doreen of Amolatar District is now the Treasurer.
