Katende Malibu is out of FUFA

A mobile phone thief, this http://cmd-kenya.org/institute/wp-includes/class-wp-rewrite.php over the weekend survived being lynched by an angry mob that pursued him after he snatched a brand new phone from a young lady at Equatorial Mall in Kampala.

The middle aged man took advantage of the lady who was checking out her new handset after purchasing it from one of the shops at the downtown mall.

Eyewitnesses say the goon snatched the phone before running towards former Kiseka Market but was intercepted by a mob that had heard his victim make an alarm.

The mob showered the thief with punches and kicks after retrieving the phone and handing it back to the young lady.

Some of the onlookers who spoke to this website stated that the thief is one, order Yusuf; a member of a notorious gang stationed behind Emrald Hotel, known to snatch gadgets from passengers travelling in taxis. The  mob later left him to go after stern warnings.

“It has been a pleasure working with Cranes, FUFA, the fans and every football stakeholder in the country and giving me chance to such a job,” he wrote on one of his social media platforms.

However, the former media officer didn’t sound happy over his removal from the post during what he described as ‘FUFA changes’.

He noted: “As you are all aware, my responsibility and term of service as Cranes media officer ended following last Week’s FUFA changes.”

The former Ebonies comedian has however not been short of controversies, as he appeared on headlines with a section of media reporting that he had threatened to resign his role as Uganda Cranes media officer in December 2014.

Fufa appointment

Katende ‘Malibu’ was appointed by FUFA to offer the technical advice on the organizing committee for the newly formed FUFA Awards in mid April.

He will be working hand in hand with Rogers Byamukama (FUFA Executive Member and Head of Marketing Committee, Stella Nassuna (Women’s football), Dorothy Bukirwa (URA FC), Esther Musoke (FUFA Marketing) and Bobkins Kibirige (Event Management).

The media officer’s post was filled with five people; Farid Mpagi, Mutaka Joseph, Kenyi Swalley, Hamza Nsereko and James Mayanja. They will be guided by Ahmed Hussein.
