Police are in shock after one of their own was found dead at a hospital compound in Kasese District today Sunday.
The Officer in Charge of Bwera Police Station only identified as Kaluuba was speared by suspected Rwenzururu combatants.

Police spokesperson Andrew Kaweesi said 14 security officers have been killed and four others wounded in the Rwenzururu operation.

Museveni has equally warned Obusinga of serious consequences should they choose to form a secessionist country called Yiira Republic.

Kasese where Mumbere is based remains a stronghold of Uganda’s political opposition.
Most of the elected leaders ran on the FDC ticket.
The escalation in fighting has since shocked the country, with political leaders calling for restraint.
“I am shocked at the way things are happening back home in Rwenzori,” said Kasese Municipality MP Winnie Kiiza.
“It is unfortunate that whereas most of us are seeking to speak peace and logically bring the problems of our people to a logical conclusion, the way the powers that be has or is handling this issue is one of the most regrettable.” she added.
“I would like to call upon our people to remain calm as we seek to address this tragic moment and everything surrounding it.”
