KASESE HORROR: 4 Slaughtered; Bodies Packed in Sacks


Police in Kasese are investigating circumstances under which three unidentified people were brutally murdered, order carried and dumped in the municipality.

According to Kasese District Police Commander Samuel Odongo, unknown assailants killed a woman and three men.

The bodies of the decapitated woman and man were found at Base Camp Central division while that of another man was discovered near the area priest’s residential house.

The body of the fourth victim was found in Kijwenga in Kisinga Sub County.

Police were acting on a tip-off from the public.

“All the deceased who are in the range of 30-40 years were found brutally murdered with no document to identify them or where they came from, ” Said Odongo.

“One of the men had his throat slit with hands tied with a rope.  The three others also had severe cuts on their faces and had their hands tied from the back,” he said.

The police commander further stated that the bodies were packed in a sack and a motorcycle was recovered from the scene.

The deceased, according to police, were on Saturday spotted in Busongora County, Kasese riding on motorcycle to unknown destination.

Odongo said police contacted the District Chairman Boda Boda Association who revealed that the motorcycle was found not have been operating in Kasese district.

He advised people to always travel with their identification documents while on long journeys.

The incident has sent shock-waves in the district. Dozens have died in recent tribal clashes in the Rwenzori area.
