Kampala: Man Arrested for Beheading Wife

Police’s  Flying Squad in Kampala has arrested a one Edward Lubega 45, there suspected to have murdered his wife on the night of June 3, doctor 2016.

Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, what is ed Patrick Onyango told the media on Tuesday at the Central Police Station (CPS) that the deceased, Flavia Namatta, 40, disappeared on June 3 and her body was later discovered in Kakiri, Masulita in Wakiso district on June 6.

Namatta was a matron at Light High School in Ssuguku on Entebbe road who was killed by chopping off her head.

“After learning about the death of Namatta, police commenced investigations by trucking Namatta’s murderer; we first arrested the Askari at the school who denied any knowledge of the incident,” Onyango said.

Onyango noted that through other investigative means, police learnt that Namatta’s husband, Lubega had communicated to the askari who was once again interrogated and admitted receiving a call from him.

“The askari admitted that he received a call from Lubega inquiring whether Namatta had moved out, which he confirmed and that was the end of the conversation,” Onyango noted.

“Later that learnt that Lubega communicated to Namatta and the gathered information indicated that the last person Namatta met was Lubega. This is how we deduced that he was indeed the murderer.”

“Yesterday or Flying Squad carried out an operation and arrested Lubega from his home in Busiika, he is still under custody and has been charged with murder.”

However, Lubega who looked in shock in custody at CPS denied the accusations.
