Burundi’s army chief General Prime Niyongabo has survived what officials described as a “well rehearsed” assassination plot in the capital Bujumbura on Friday morning.

Niyongabo was travelling in a military convoy when it came under heavy gunfire from soldiers travelling a military vehicle.

An impeccable source told ChimpReports that seven people including bodyguards were killed when their cars were sprayed with bullets.

The bending of rules to favour one individual has rattled some members of the alliance with some suggesting that it was exhibiting double standards.

He said rallying forces to remove President Museveni from “is not about our egos and glory as individuals but Uganda.”

Besigye who has lost thrice to Museveni in presidential elections, said the alliance’s operations must be done in an orderly manner and that he is “this struggle not for what I become but for change.”

In his conclusive remarks, Besigye said, “If Mbabazi chose not to join TDA, it won’t affect us since we have been moving all along without him and I have been winning elections with him on the other side.”

Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ has released a 25-man squad that will start preparations for the 2016 final Africa Championships Qualifier match against Sudan.

Among the surprise inclusions is Jinja Municipal Hippos defender Aggrey Madoi. The Serbian and his technical team have also drafted Bul Fc lethal forward Militon Kallisa while URA’s new signing Oromchan Villa makes a comeback after several months in the cold.

Uganda will host Sudan in the first leg at Namboole stadium on Saturday 17th October 2015 before honoring the return leg a week later on 24th October 2015 in Sudan.

The aggregate  winner over the two legs will qualify for the 2016 Africa Nations Champions (CHAN)
finals that will be held in Rwanda early next year.
