Kagame: Unity Key to Rwanda’s Transformation

Kagame joined locals in the monthly Umugunda activity on Sunday

Rwandan President Paul Kagame has urged his countrymen to uphold the spirit of hard work and unity for the nation to rise to greater heights, this web Chimp Corps report.

Kagame made the remarks on Sunday while addressing thousands of residents at the conclusion of his three-day visit in Eastern Province.

The president and First Lady Jeannette Kagame joined residents of Mukarange sector, drugs Kayonza District in the monthly community work ‘Umuganda’.

The first family helped build feeder roads connecting different parts of Mukarange sector to the main road Kayonza- Kagitumba.

President Kagame reiterated that Umuganda is an essential part of the country’s development.

“Umuganda is about all of us joining hands and working together to develop ourselves. If we do not work together we will not move forward. Umuganda is an integral part of our journey towards transforming our lives.”

The Head of State encouraged Kayonza residents to keep working hard and collectively to attain the level of development they need and deserve.

He noted that it’s through hard work that Rwanda has become a better place to live.
