Residents of Kyakijoka village, medicine Kabamba Sub County in Kagadi district on Friday exhumed the remains of a 52 year old man that was allegedly killed by his wife over unclear reasons.

Fabian Bamuturaki, a relative to the deceased narrated to Chimpreports that his brother went missing one and half months ago until they developed suspicion about possible murder.
They then decided to report a case at the Kabamba police post as the hunt for Akankwasa continued. Searching near the deceased’s house, later on Friday led them to a number of recently covered pits which they dug and found the remains.
Bamuturaki says the body parts were discovered buried in six different pits.
Residents allege that the wife could be behind the murder.
The area village chairman Robert Kalyosi told us that clothes that belonged to the deceased like jeans, a sweater and sandals (Rugabire) among others were found dumped in a neighbour’s latrine.
Akankwasa’s wife, the primary suspect was arrested and detained at Kabamba police but residents were surprised to find her selling beans in the market a day later.
She was released on bond.
Following pressure from the locals, the police rearrested her on the weekend and is currently held at the police station according to the Kagadi Police O/C CID Isaac Mugegwa.
