Kagadi Man Strangles Wife to Death, Flees With Son

Kagadi police are hunting for a man alleged to have strangled his 50 year old wife to death on Saturday afternoon, buy in Nyangereka B cell in Kagadi town council, information pills after a quarrel.

The village chairperson Omuhereza Kyamanywa identified the suspect as John Mbonye and the deceased as Teopista Nakyanzi.

The chairperson says the suspect – now on the run – after murdering his wife turned to her 12 year old relative and hacked with a machete, critically injuring her. The child is currently admitted at Kagadi Government Hospital.

The suspect after the incident fled the scene with his preteen son with whom they were living, but from a different mother.

The Kagadi town council Moyor Geoffrey Businge said the suspect remains elusive, and urged local council leaders and residents to help in the hunt.

The Kagadi OC CID Isaac Mugera who visited the scene said investigations have commenced and promised to have the suspect brought to book.
