Kabale: Police Arrests 4 Suspected Car Thieves

Kabale police has detained four men who allegedly steal and vandalize vehicles.

Kharim Wahabu(18), nurse Joshua Kahigi (30), Martin Mugabe(25) and Michael Mugume( 27), all from Nyakijumba cell Nyakahita ward central division kabale Municipality in July 2015 apparently broke into a Toyota corona registration number UAK 485D belonging to businessman Shabani Buyingo of Kabale.

The Kigezi regional police spokesman, Elly Maate revealed that the culprits went away with the car battery, radio, two hoofers, a phone and other valuables.

The phone was however tracked and found in the possession of Kharim who then led the police to his other associates.

According to Maate, two of the accused have been disguising as car washers.

“They would make copies of their client’s car keys and later break into them,” he added.

Matte disclosed that investigations in this regard are ongoing and the culprits will be charged.
