Kabale High Court Gets New Premises

High Court in Kabale has received a new court building at Kikunguri Hill worth 700 million shillings.

Justice Moses Kawumi Kazibwe the Kabale High Court Judge says the structure will help reduce on the congestion at Makanga where they were occupying a chief magistrates court premises.

 The new High Court structure was constructed by the Justice Law and Order Sector – JLOS.

At the commissioning of the building, Justice Kazibwe called upon government to also construct premises for the lower courts at Kikunguri, saying that the lower courts being at Makanga and the High Court at Kikunguri will hampers their work.

Samuel Omakor, the Kabale High Court Deputy Registrar noted that while the new structure is not yet connected to electricity, they are working with the Rural Electrification Agency to solve this problem. In the mean time the court will be relying on a generator.
