Four senior workers at Kabale district local government have quit the district to join Kabale University.
Alex Twebaze, who was the district planner is now the university senior planner, Bruce Twongeirwe, formally the procurement officer is the university procurement officer, and Perepetwa Arinaitwe who was an accountant at the district has been hired for the same services by the university.
Emmanuel Arinaitwe Habaruwasha formally, the district human resource officer is now the assistant human resource officer at Kabale University.
On Thursday, the Kabale district chairman, Patrick Besigye Keihwa announced the departure of his employees during a council session at the district hall.
As the district looks to replacing the four, Keihwa expressed concern that work there was likely to be hampered in their absence.
“We cannot stop them from going; it is good they will be serving in our own public university,” said Keihwa.
The same council session approved two members of the district service commission Christine Byabagambi and Wycliffe Mugisha, whose two year term had expired to be handed another two year term.
