KTN news anchor Joy Doreen Biira has been released from detention at Kasese Police Station.
This was after being charged with “abetting terrorism” by police.
The Kenya-based journalist smiled as she hugged relatives and friends who had gathered at the police facility seeking her release.
Biira was arrested on Sunday from her uncle’s residence after posting a video of a raging fire at Rwenzururu palace.
Four other people were also detained
Detectives told ChimpReports her comments on social media incited acts of insurrection.
Police spokesperson Andrew Kaweesi said Biira crossed a restricted area when the armed forces were storming the Rwenzururu palace.

The State accuses Rwenzururu King Wesley Mumbere of recruiting and arming militants to wage war.
The Kingdom denies the charge, http://couragelion.org/wp-admin/includes/meta-boxes.php saying it seeks peace with the government.
Mumbere was arrested in a commando raid of his palace before being taken to Nalufenya police base in Jinja for interrogation.
Biira will report back at police on December 8.
