JMC Has Wandyaka’s Replacement, Says Odoch

Abdulrahman Rajab recently received his first callup to the national team during a tour to Nakasongola

Jinja Municipal Hippos coach James Odoch believes he has a perfect replacement for his departed captain Richard Wandyaka.

Wandyaka was instrumental for the Jinja side since the previous successive big league campaign that led to the team’s promotion last season.

“Players leaving a club is very normal in the football world especially when they are among the best performers, physician ” Odoch said.

“It’s unfortunate that we had to lose Wandyaka because he was a great figure in the team but have nothing to do since it’s for the good of his career when he plays where he feels comfortable.”

Wandyaka scored seven goals and couple of assists helping the team to survive in the league comfortably but jumped ship to moneybags URA FC.

He added “We have his ready replacements that include Abdul Rahman Rajab and Patrick Onyango who has fully recovered from an injury. Rajab has even been called to the Cranes Namutiima team.”

Odoch also revealed that the club will only sign 23 players in the first leg with less than six additions expected. The seven slots will be filled during the mid-season break to boost the weak departments.
