Achilla has been moved to Amuria

Former Jinja Resident District Commissioner (RDC) John Rex Achilla has handed over office to Locap Peterkhen, find the former RDC for Moroto who now replaces him.

Achilla who was posted to Jinja towards 2016 general elections following the transfer of Richard Gulume Balyainho, a born of Jinja to Buvuma district has now been transferred to Amuria district.

Late last year, Erick Sakwa who was the deputy RDC of Jinja for about four years was also transferred to Kumi district and replaced by Vincent Kamugisha.

He said the transfer was in line with the communication from the office of the president asking for harmonious co-existence and cooperation for development.

Achilla advised that Jinja is an area with diverse tribes that need to be united.

“However land grabbing remains a big challenge in some areas of Jinja Municipality like Mpumudde and Walukuba-Masese Division which you must fight hard to curtail’ Achilla said.

On his part, the incoming RDC pledged to work with all people irrespective of their tribes, race and or political inclination saying every idea good for Jinja district is much welcome.

“I need to work with all politicians, technical personnel and individuals for the good of Jinja, therefore I welcome all people’s ideas. My office will be open to all and for all. I only urge you to know and differentiate duty from friendship,” Locap said.
