Plain textUGANDA: Five Pick Monthly Awards
Five winners of the Bell Super League monthly awards were on Monday recognized for their exceptional performances in Kampala.
Express’ Willy Kavuma, Maroons George Abege, Bunnamwaya’s Kizito Luwagga, and SC Villa’s Steven Bengo and Moses Ndawula were awarded for the months of December, January, February, March and April respectively.
Kavuma was selected as the most outstanding footballer the month of December 2011.
Luwagga and Abege are also in running for the Footballer of the Year award while the former is also short-listed for the best midfielder accolade.
Abege, who has scored nine goals in the league, five behind leading scorer Robert Ssentongo, is also in the running for the top-scorers’ golden boot.
The Maroons striker’s goal against Water is also in the running for goal of the season.
“I have scored many but my first league goal against water stands out,” said Abege.
Monthly winners
The function took place at Kampala Sheraton Hotel.
