Plain textMinister's Wife Car Crash: Lorry Driver Arrested
Police have arrested the driver of the lorry registration number UAJ 474J that killed State ICT Minister Nyombi Tembo’s wife, Prisca Mashengyero Tembo, on Saturday night.
John Sentamu, 32, a resident of Guludene, Kiwenda, Wakiso district was picked by detectives on Sunday as he got treatment from one of the clinics in Bwebajja – just a few kilometers from the scene of the blood-spattered accident.
“Sentamu is in custody. He will be charged with reckless driving resulting into death,” confirmed Kampala Metropolitan publicist Ibin Ssenkumbi.
The lorry belonged to Mayir estate flower growers, according to Ssenkumbi.
Mashengyero passed away at around 11:30pm on Saturday when a car she was traveling in collided with a Kampala-bound lorry in Bwebajja along Entebbe Road.
She died on spot.
The car was shattered beyond repair. Mashengero’s flesh was strewn everywhere as blood flowed endlessly on the tarmac.
