Growing up alone, Flavia found joy in watching television which created interest in things around her.

“That’s where my passion for TV came from,” the curvy celebrity tells Chimp Corp Yvonne Turahirirwe.

She went to St. Theresa Girl’s School, Kisubi, Arya Primary School and Kitante Hill School before joining Makerere University Business School.

Currently, Flavia is a radio presenter at Capital Fm for the mid-morning show and WBS TV host for the K-files.

She is also the Ugandan VJ for Channel O, a music channel in Africa and a voice over-artist (voice documentaries and commercial ads).

Journey to fame

Growing up, Flavia fell in love with Television. “It was my hobby and I used to practice in the mirror that I was a presenter so one day I got up and asked for a job on WBS TV Teens Club and thank God I got it,” she recounts.

Ten years down the road, Flavia is still in love with TV and presenting more than ever.

When it comes to radio, Flavia was intrigued by the idea of being able to talk to an audience you cannot see and create a relationship with them.

This prompted her to join radio.

“I have learnt so much from being on air and have realized it’s actually tougher than TV,” she adds.

INSPIRES YOUNG GENERATION

Flavia believes she hasn’t got her greatest achievement yet.

“I believe it hasn’t happened but I am proud of the fact that a young girl somewhere in Uganda believes she can achieve her dreams through hard work and that she can be somebody by looking at me as an example...That in its own is a good thing!”

At 24, Flavia is setting the bar for the young generation .Her message to the youth is to follow their dreams and to seize every opportunity with boldness and confidence not forgetting God as the key, something she believes has helped her through it all.

WORKHAHOLIC

Unlike most people, Flavia is proud to say she loves working.

“I feel happier with a busy schedule than none...But when I get a moment off I try and catch up with a few series on TV or enjoy tea with friends and I try once a month to take some of my nieces for a swim or playtime…children bring out the best in me.“

Flavia recently hosted the opening show of Big Brother Africa. She attributes this to her slot as channel O VJ which got her nominated to co-host big brother Africa.

She also submitted some of her past work.

“I guess they were impressed with my work so I ended up on the show for the opening night which I am grateful people really enjoyed,” she adds.

DESIGNER

Flavia‘s stunning outfit during the opening night of the show is the work of an upcoming designer from Tanzania and fashion house named Kidiot!

Some people were of the view that Flavia should have joined the Big Brother House.

Our Corp asked her if she would consider such an opportunity but Flavia was a bit skeptical about the idea:

”Hmmmm am too secretive...I am not good with sharing a lot about myself so I don’t think I would do well! But never say never!”

As regards her future plans, Flavia plans to explore acting at a big level and also start a production house in 5 years.
