Kadaga Explains Removal Of Oil Scandal Ministers
The Speaker of Parliament has said she can not force two ministers out of the house despite MPs' resolutions that they step down over oil bribery allegations.
"I am waiting for the President's response. I played my part. The rest is in the hands of the appointing authority to take action on the ministers," Kadaga told our reporters.
Parliaments wants Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi and Hilary Onek to step down but they have defied the orders.
The President has since said documents which MP Gerald Karuhanga relied on to pin the ministerrs were forgeries.
MPs have resolved to invoke the censore article if the ministers stay in Parliament.
"We shall have no option but to forcefully evict them out of the house. The rules are very clear on this," NRM Theodore Ssekikuubo said.
As we write, MPs are mobilising signatures to remove Mbabazi and Onek from office.
