Walk to Work: More Treason Suspects Jailed
State is leaving no stone unturned in cracking down on suspected agents of a planned internal resurrection.
Court sitting in Nakawa has today remanded three opposition activists suspected of having been part of a wider plan to overthrow the government of President Yoweri Museveni.
Mathew Walakira, Robert Mayanja and Tony Ssempebwa are charged with concealment of treason.
Police says the trio attended meetings in which plans of instigating a civil uprising, under the cover of walk to work, were discussed.
Police says they should have reported the matter to nearest authorities
The meeting was held last Sunday at IPC offices in Nakasero, Kampala. They were sent to Luzira prison since the Magistrate was not around for them to take plea.
