MUBS On Fire
Reports coming in indicate that a strike has broken out at Makerere University of Business School (MUBS).
We are told police has hurled teargas canisters into the University premises and fired live ammunition in the air to control the rioting students.
The students are up in arms over what they have termed as an 'exorbitant' increment in tuition and other dues.
Security is reportedly tight with heavily armed anti-riot police cordoning off the premises The bussiness in Nakawa has come to a standstill and a traffic jam in the area has worsened.
Details facts of reasons for the strike are still unclear but we will bring to you the information as soon as it becomes available.
Makerere University students were a few months ago forced to pack their bags and quit campus after a lecturers flagged off a strike over low salaries.
They returned after negotiations between University adminstration to increase wages and government bore fruit.
