MURDER IN KAMPALA: Taxi Driver’s Dismembered Body Found In Swamp
Kampala Police on Sunday found a dismembered body of a taxi driver dumped in a swamp in Wakiso district in a horrific killing that will rattle the city.
Peter Bada Kaaya had his hands cut off.
It is the latest in a spate of brutal murders across the country, in which gangsters have left multiple bodies on roadsides.
Police statistics show that at least one person is killed every day in the country.
Kaaya was a special taxi driver operating at Mengo stage, Kampala.
The body was discovered in Lukwanga swamp, according to Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Ibin Ssenkumbi.
He says Kaaya went missing on July 1 2012, after being hired by unidentified persons.
The body was taken to Mulago Referral Hospital for postmortem.
“We suspect that the body might have been dumped in the swamp after killing the victim. Investigations are still ongoing,” says Ssenkumbi.
Police is yet to hold suspects.
