RED FRIDAY: AU Police Convoy Kills Two In Kampala
Two unidentified young men were on Friday night killed when a truck in the African Union police convoy rammed into a boda boda in Naguru, a Kampala suburb.
The boda boda was carrying four passengers when the incident happened.
Eye witnesses said the boda boda rider and one of the passengers died on spot. Time check was 9:30pm.
One of the survivors Emmy Tuhurikirize told Chimp Corps that they were travelling from Nakawa market to Kampala city when the motorcycle was smashed by the AU truck at a corner just next to the Kampala Rugby Grounds.
Police trucks later took the bodies to Mulago Referral Hospital for postmortem.
The victims’ brains were shattered as blood steadily flowed on the tarmac.
This news website understands several AU police teams are undergoing training in Kampala and other parts of the country.
Kampala Metropolitan Police publicist Ibin Ssenkumb recently said reckless boda boda riders are the leading cause of accidents especially in Kampala.
