Man Believed To Have Stolen 500 Cars Arrested In Kampala

A suspected top Kampala car thief has been arrested in an operation coordinated and led by IGP Lt. Gen. kale Kayihura.

A one Edward Lubega, suspected to have stolen over 500 cars in the city and other parts of the country, is currently detained at Jinja Road Police Station in Kampala.

He was reportedly arrested during a Sunday pre-dawn raid on his house in Kinawataka, a Kampala suburb, by police Counter Terrorism operatives.

Chimp Corp Gold Ronald says police teams are now heading to Lubega's home, where hundreds of lost car keys were recovered, for more investigations. 

Police also found a corona car registration number UAH 713E which was stolen from Lugogo on Saturday during a music concert.  

Ronald says Kampala Metropolitan Spokesperson Ibin Ssenkumbi has confirmed the arrest.
