Plain textUganda Witchdoctors Change Tricks, Behead Disabled
Kampala Police have called upon friends and relatives of the disabled to take caution after investigations revealed that witchdoctors are now going for the handicapped for ritual sacrifices.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Ibin Ssenkumbi says due increased vigilance of the public against kidnapping of kids for ritual sacrifices; witchdoctors now skillfully target the helplessly handicapped.
“The witchdoctors are now killing the lame, mad and dumb persons especially in Buganda region. This is a very serious situation,” Ssenkumbi tells Chimpreports.com.
This followed an incident on Saturday where police recovered the body of a mentally disturbed man in Namanve swamps.
The head and private parts were cut off, according to Ssenkumbi.
Police have therefore advised local authorities and relatives of the disabled to watch over these people and protect them from such criminals.
Ssenkumbi says investigations into the murder are underway.
“We have already started quizzing witchdoctors in the area,” says Ssenkumbi.
