The President left the country early Saturday morning.

Museveni was received on arrival this morning at Genbot Hua Airport by the Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister  Hailemariam Desalegn, the Amhara Regional President Mr. Ayalew Gobeze, and Uganda’s Ambassador to Ethiopia Mull Katende.

The President was treated to a red carpet welcome and also entertained to Ethiopian traditional dances.

The Tana High Level Forum on security of Africa is expected to discuss a number of issues concerning the security of the African continent as a whole and that of the Great Lakes’ Region in particular.

President Museveni is accompanied by the State Minister for Water, Mrs. Betty Bigombe and Women Member of Parliament for Iganga district Hon. Kabaale Kwagala Olivia and George Stephen Ekuma for Bukedea Constituency.

We are reliably informed the major item on the agenda is the Al Shabaab threat to the region.

Museveni in February travelled to London for a Conference on Somalia. The Ethiopian government is a big supporter of AMISOM operations in Somalia.
