Michael Ross Still Shines After 10 Years In Music Industry
Michael Ross Kakooza, commonly known as Michael Ross, was born in Makindye, a Kampala suburb. The 30 year old RnB artist is a son to Joseph Kasibante and Immaculate Kasibante and has 14 siblings.
Michael went to Molly and Paul Primary school, Kibuye and Bat valley primary school.
”I kept changing schools because I like to experience new things and my parents understood when I was bored with a school,” he explains.
Michael’s music career kicked off in his S.6 vacation when he started a boy group ,”Boys In Rhythm” but the group spilt up because they found it hard to meet and connect since they were all doing different things.
He then started his professional career in music and decided to first do music instead of going to the university.
“I didn’t think I would balance the two besides. I was really passionate about music,” he tells Chimp Corp Yvonne Turahirirwe.
Michael‘s parents were keen on supporting his career.

inspiration
So where does Michael get his inspiration? He gets his inspiration from artistes like Sisqo, Brian McKnight, Usher and the king of pop Michael Jackson and our very own Maurice Kirya.
When it comes to relationships Michael says he is single and is looking forward to meeting the right woman.
“I am waiting for that woman who will love me for me and have a family with me; I don’t go out chasing for love.”
Currently Michael is working on his second album “Unstoppable.” The album has about 20 songs and it will be out this year.
He says this particular album will be versatile with hip hop, dance hall and Zuok.
“A true artiste experiments with everything people get bored when you do the same thing,” he adds. He gets inspiration to write his music from his personal experience and from those around him and sometimes he simply writes with no particular inspiration.
Michael says if he was given a chance to change the music industry, he would like to change the perception people have towards artists.
“Artistes are not valued enough or respected people should know that music too is a serious profession,” he adds.
For Michael there is no greater achievement than his fans:
“After 10 years it’s good to know I still have people that believe in me he”, he says with a big smile on his face. As regards his challenges for Michael life itself is one great challenge.
Michael’s future plans include starting a family something that’s very vital for him as he is not getting any younger.
Although right now he is only into music he also plans to venture into business.
” I want to do business but I have not got good knowledge about it so am taking my time.”
