Ex Obsessions Star Shebbah Karungi Arrested In Kigali
Ex obsession dance group star Shebbah Karungi has been released from Kigali International Airport police post where she had been detained for assaulting a police office on duty, Chimp Corps can reveal.
It all started on Saturday when Karungi arrived in Kigali from South Africa -- on her way to Uganda.
Shortly after boarding Rwadair, the singer quarreled and fought with a passenger. Airport security swiftly intervened.
Cops found Karungi totally drunk. She was hurling insults at cops and other concerned passengers.
“In fact she tried to resist arrest. That Ugandan singer slapped the officer,” said a source at the airport.
That’s when she was handcuffed, kicked out of the plane and detained until Monday morning.
Asked whether the pencil-thin singer was charged with any offence, sources said Karungi was pardoned because she misbehaved under the influence of alcohol.
“She also admitted being drunk and pleaded for mercy. That’s how she was let off the hook,” the source added.
Karungi quit obsessions to pursue a solo career.
Lately, tabloids reported she was “in love” with Uganda’s Hip Hop sensation Keko.
The singer was not readily available for comment.
