Aoun, an oil processing Engineer, who was accompanied by his father Ali, expressed the readiness of their company to partner with the government of Uganda to invest in electricity generation and oil processing by constructing an oil refinery.
The Gulf Power Corporation Limited, which is based in Kuwait, has opened up similar projects in Ethiopia and South Sudan.
Mr. Aoun further expressed their interest in working together with the Government of Uganda to form a distribution company in refined oil products.
Museveni warmly welcomed them to Uganda and pledged government’s support to the company’s projected business venture in the country.
The President, however, asked Aoun to also take interest in adding value to Ugandan products like fruits, cereals, bananas and potatoes, among others.
