Oil Companies Warned On Bribery
The civil society has warned oil companies face the full rage of ordinary Ugandans if they pursue the secret and illegal oil deals they signed with politicians.
”They cannot do successful business in Uganda by circumventing the due process of the law and buying off our politicians and public officials, “said (Publish What You Pay(PWYP) chairperson Dickens Kamugisha.
He furiously condemned the shoddy process in signing of new Production Sharing Agreements between government and oil companies.
Tullow Oil is accused of giving three Ugandan ministers bribes for good oil deals in the country.
MPs have asked Finance Minister Maria Kiwanuka to table the transactions between oil companies and government.
