State House has confirmed Monday afternoon that the body of the deceased Internal Affairs Minister General Aronda Nyakarima will be arriving in the country on Wednesday.

“It has been confirmed, the body of Gen Aronda Nyakairima will touch down at 1pm aboard Emirates on Wednesday,” read a brief communiqué from State House.
According to a preliminary funeral program, Aronda’s body will be taken at the Kololo independence Grounds for public viewing and then it will be laid before parliament.

According to Akaki, the task force will work jointly to ensure that all the NRM flag bearers take all the positions in the district.

Akaki said the taskforce comprises of Emmanuel Opolo Peace who is the taskforce secretary and many other committee members, including David Ebong Abongo, former Maruzi county MP, Edddy Ococ the NRM Parliamentary candidate for Maruzi constituency and Betty Engola, the NRM parliamentary candidates for Apac woman MP among others.

The President on Saturday had just arrived in India when the shocking news reached him.

Medical experts examining the remains of Aronda are expected anytime to blow the lid on the exact cause of the General’s death, who was reported in a healthy condition by people close to him.
A distraught Museveni remarked that irrespective of the results of the autopsy, the General was not coming back. “It is very sad,” he said.
“Aronda together with few others helped us start afresh and rebuilt the country. It is a big loss. He has made his contribution especially with the ID Project. It was stuck but he moved it,” he said.
Museveni noted however that he was relieved that General Aronda had travelled with some of his staff members, who he said help reveal what exactly transpired.
“At first I thought he had traveled alone. I was relieved to learn he was with four or five people. It makes it easier to ask what went on.”
The President was accompanied by the First Lady Hon. Janet Museveni and First daughter Natasha Karugire. He said he will say more during the funeral.
Aronda’s body expected back in the country on Wednesday afternoon and will be laid to rest later on Saturday at his ancestral home in Rukungiri.
