Hoima Security Guard Held for Stealing Gun

Hoima Police are holding a private security guard who is said to have stolen a gun from Hoima Sugar Limited factory.

He says Anguyo was picked on Tuesday night following a two day’s manhunt.

Hakiza says the suspect is wanted for attacking Nixon Chandia, ask a security guard attached to the Sugar factory and making off with his gun registration number SAR 22009565-102502.

He reportedly hit the guard from Security Group limited on the head with a sharp object before taking off with his gun.

According to Hakiza, the suspect has confessed to attacking the security guard but declined to reveal his intentions.

He says the theft of the gun at the factory comes after an attempted break-in at the factory by unknown people.

The suspect has been slapped with charges of illegal gun possession.

Hakiza says police have now deployed at the factory to ensure maximum security.
