The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council has announced the day the Muslim community in the country will join the rest of their colleagues in faith in the world to observe the Arafat Day.
Arafat Day is the second day of the Hajj pilgrimage and the day after is the first day of the major Islamic Holiday of Eid ul-Adha.
The Day falls on the 9th day of Dhul Hijja of the lunar Islamic Calendar.
This happens to be approximately 70 days after the end of the month of Ramadan.

Sheikh Kakungulu stressed the importance of sacrificing animals and urged all Muslims in Uganda to purchase or identify animals to be slaughtered in time so that they do not miss out on the rewards from Allah.
