Commander of the Special Forces Brig Muhoozi Kainerugaba has turned 41 years today. Muhoozi who is President Yoweri Museveni’s eldest child, was born on this 24th of April back 1974 in Dar-es- Salaam Tanzania.
As a child, Kainerugaba attended schools in Tanzania, Kenya and Sweden. After Museveni became President, he attended schools like Kampala Parents School and St. Mary’s College Kisubi, located approximately halfway between Kampala and Entebbe. He graduated in 1994.
He has also been a to number Military Training Institutions around the world, which aided his rise to the helm of the country’s elite force, that provides security to the President, and other important national installations.
Having joined the UPDF in 1999, Muhoozi went to the Egyptian Military Academy, United States Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; graduating in June 2008, and also successfully completed the Executive National Security Programme at the South African National Defense College.
Muhoozi, was last year hinted as being prepared by his father to take over from him as the president of the Republic of Uganda, in what became known the “Muhoozi Project,” a claim he personally rubbished.
“The power to choose how Uganda is governed lies with Ugandans and not a single individual,” he said.
Describing his son entirely disinterested in politics, President Yoweri Museveni at a press conference said Muhoozi was not even capable of heading a village council [LC 1].
Museveni recently remarked that he named his son “Muhoozi” which is Runyankole for ‘The avenger,’ adding that he would revenge those that dare tried to harm his father.
