“All the money has been transferred to each participating team,” Caf media officer Junior Binyam confirmed.
Fufa public relations officer also the communications director Mr. Ahmed Hussein was reached for a comment but he could not directly confirm if the federation did or didn’t receive the said funds.
“How much Uganda FA gets is not secretive information, it was posted on CAF website and Newspapers in Uganda,” Hussein said adding that, “It is money that comes months after the tournament.”
When questioned about the 50% paid for preparations he later agreed that it was true but the money is to be released (by Caf) from January 1st 2017.
“I think what you are saying starts on 1st Jan 2017, Not in 2016. Advances can’t happen before the new cycle starts in 1st Jan 2017. The figures will be applicable starting 1st January,” he emphasized.
Hussein adds that “when half of the figure is wired as per the dates, the rest comes after the tourney when the Media and marketing agents of CAF have reconciled their figures.”
However, Caf insist the money has been transferred to all the participating federations accounts.
