Gun Used to Shoot Kisoro Businessman Recovered


Police in Kisoro has recovered the gun that is believed to have been used by in the shooting of Stephen Sabiiti Semitwe, treat a prominent Businessman in Kisoro town.

Sabiiti, approved who is also a political Assistant to Sam Bitangaro, the Bufumbira South Member of Parliament was shot by unknown gunmen at around 8 pm on 18th March 2017 while at the gate of his home in Birembo cell, in Chahi Sub County. The bullets grazed his face and injured his arm.

He was admitted at Mutolere Hospital before being referred to Mulago Hospital in Kampala.

Yesterday afternoon, one of the residents landed on an AK 47 near the crime scene.

Charles Okoto, the Kisoro DPC says the weapon was recovered in grass with 15 rounds of ammo.

So far, no person has been arrested in connection with the incident. This is the second gun to be recovered in Kisoro District in less than two months.

On February 21st this year, an AK 47 rifle and 14 rounds of ammunition were found hidden in a Toyota Premio vehicle registration number UAX 670Y.
