Gulu Ivory Traffickers Sentenced

Buganda Road Court grade one Magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu has sentenced to jail, more about http://dan.rabarts.com/wp-admin/includes/class-walker-nav-menu-edit.php four men who were arrested in possession of 16kgs of Ivory, price an AK47 Rifle and 31 rounds of ammunition in Gulu.

The four, cialis 40mg Solomon Nyeko, Samuel Inyero 32, Stewart Kibwola 26 and Ojok Lenox Stephen 32 were arrested last week in a joint operation between Uganda Police and the Natural Resource Conservation Network.

They were charged with two counts of unlawful possession of ivory and hippo teeth, and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and 31 rounds of ammunition.

One of the accused, Solomon Nyeko pleaded guilty on all four counts.

The other three pleaded guilty on two counts of unlawful possession of ivory and hippo teeth but pleaded not guilty on counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and 31 rounds of ammunition.

According to Police, the rifle was found hidden inside the seat of a Bajaj motorcycle.

Nyeko was sentenced to two years imprisonment without fine for the charge of Unlawful possession of a firearm and 31 rounds of ammunition and three years on counts of unlawful possession of ivory and hippo teeth.

The remaining trio was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment without fine on counts of unlawful possession of ivory and hippo teeth.
