Grief as NSSF’s Jean Kiconco Dies During Childbirth

The brutal hand of death last evening struck Case Clinic in Kampala, search robbing the precious life of National Social Security Fund (NSSF) staff, adiposity Jean Kiconco.

The youthful Kiconco was at the medical facility to give birth to her first born only to die from the theatre where she was being operated.

According to relatives, ailment Kiconco preferred the caesarean section but could not get out alive. Even the baby did not survive.

The incident has since shocked the nation, with friends using social media platforms to express their grief and send condolence messages.

Blessing Jean, who was among the last people to talk to Kiconco, described the deceased as amiable and selfless.

“I could always rely on you (Kiconco) whenever I needed help, whether with a project, assignment you were always willing to help me,” said Blessing, also an NSSF staff member.

“I came to trust your judgment and wisdom as well and advice was always so well thought out and helpful. We will miss you,” she added.

A vigil was Tuesday night held in Najjera, Wakiso District where friends and relatives comforted the bereaved family.

A funeral Service will be held this morning at St. Andrews’s Bukoto Church of Uganda starting 11:00am and thereafter the cortege heads to Rubare – Ntungamo District.

Her remains will be laid to rest this Friday, according to the funeral arrangement.
