Government to Build 4 More Cancer Institutes

David  Bahati, cost the  state  minister  for planning  has revealed that  government will build  four regional cancer  institutes as a way of  bringing  cancer services nearer to the  people .

Bahati says upon completion of the new cancer institute at Mulago National Referral Hospital in the next two years, government will embark on building regional cancer institutes in the four regional hospitals of Kabale, Mbale, Mbarara and Gulu.

The minister made the revelation last Sunday while speaking to   mourners at the requiem service of David Skyluck Kagoma, the former Kabale district Councilor that was held at St Andrew Church of Uganda Kibuga in Rubaya Sub County.

Kagoma represented Rubaya sub county at the district  council for 15 years until  he lost the  seat  in the March 2016  polls. He succumbed  to cancer on Friday in Kampala.

At the service, one of his daughters Flavia Kyomukama was unhappy that government instead investing more in the health sector was wasting resources on fighting its political opposition.

Mourners described David Skyluck Kagoma as statesman, a great educationalist and a man with integrity who worked hard to develop Kabale district.
