The Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) national coordinator Gen Salim Saleh has declared the Ankole zone as the worst performing region out of the 18 regions in Uganda.

Gen Saleh made the revelation on  Monday during a consultative meeting at Ntare School with OWC district coordinators, clinic http://cinsellikteperformans.com/media/widgetkit/widgets/spotlight/layouts/dashboard.php town agents and parish chiefs in Ankole region.

Gen. Saleh said the assessment was on coffee production and out of 100 tree plantings only 38 were registered to have grown in Ankole region.

Over all he said, http://contemporarydancevideos.com/wp-content/themes/videozoom/functions/wpzoom/components/video-api.php Isingiro district which was split from the greater Mbarara was the worst performing district.

The best performing districts according to Saleh included Kisoro (First) followed by Kanungu in the Kigezi region. These he said will be rewarded accordingly.

“I was always mistaken that in Ankole we are great farmers but assessment results proved me wrong; it is now only Kisoro and Kanungu where every coffee tree planting given is managed till growth,” he said.

Gen Saleh called the special meeting to establish why Ankole region was named the worst in the whole country yet they have everything it takes to be.

He went on during the meeting to blame the poor performance on a number of factors, most of them political in nature.

“Before things were liberalized there were cooperative unions, and things were going on well; but now if you see the number of people escorting the coffee seedling… it’s a worry,” he said.

He also said that a number of agriculture organizations like MAIF, DDA, UCDA, NARO, NAADS and CDO have failed to perform.

Gen. Saleh said that he will take on Ankole zone by himself in this remaining short season of planting of the year to produce results.

“I am now embarrassed to report that 50% of OWC has failed” Salim Saleh said

At the meeting however, parish chiefs warned the general that unless they fully involved in the program, empowered and facilitated to do the monitoring nothing will be provided on ground.
