President Yoweri Museveni’s Adviser on Special Operations, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has, in a quite emotional message, eulogized Brigadier Taban Kyabihende.
Brig. Kyabihende(RO/00094) succumbed to cancer Monday morning at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala where had been admitted since last week.
In his eulogy posted on Twitter, Gen Kainerugaba wrote: “Very sad to hear about the passing of our comrade Brigadier Taban Kyabihende. We shall miss his dedication and energy! May he RIP.”

His death was confirmed to ChimpReports by the UPDF and Ministry of Defense and Veterans Affairs Spokesman, Brig. Richard Karemire, who said: “It’s sad and very unfortunate that we have lost a great comrade. He passed on from Nakasero Hospital.”
At the hospital, ChimpReports learnt that several generals went to check on the fallen army general who is among the first 100 NRA soldiers.
The deceased joined NRA relatively at the same time with FDC’s Rt. Col. Kizza Besigye whose number is RO/00098.
Kyabihende was among the Museveni’s first 7 bodyguards under late Fred Rwigyema. Others included late Capt. Marious Katungi, Maj. Gen. Pecos Kutesa (Army Member of Parliament), late captains Aziz Bey and Kasasaira.
At the time of his passing, he was Uganda’s defense attaché in neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo.
